Can you believe this is the only picture I got of Bella in her classroom? Here is her teacher, her Nana and of course Mr. "I Waved Goodbye to Mama because I thought I got to stay too".
Here is Bella and her bud Charlie, who is in the room across from her. I am not sure why Bella went into this mode when I said, "Let's get a picture of you two on your first day of school."
Bella and I did a money activity today, which I got from I Can Teach My Child . We talked about how money is different in each country, and then about quarters, dimes and nickels.
After attempting Phonics Pathways , we have switched to Teach Your Child To Read in 100 Easy Lessons . There was no structure to PP, and I need structure!
I am excited to mark this day of beginnings and see where Bella is at the end of the school year. Her report on her class: her teacher is nice, she is not sure she likes the other girls in her classroom, but there is one boy she played "groceries" with.

OK first off, William is way too cute! And second... you are doing such a good job with Bella and teaching her!! Its overwhelming to think about all that but she looks like one smart cookie and it doesn't hurt that she is adorable!
Thanks Erin! Bella is so easy to teach because she loves it and things come easily to her. I feel like I don't do enough with her actually! William on the other hand...I don't see him being a fun child to teach- maybe to coach, but not to teach. He doesn't even sit for TV!
Very exciting! I hope you like 100 Easy Lessons as much as we did. Matthew is very structured and routine, so it worked great for us. My one hang up, looking back, is if you want your child to learn phonics rules and stuff, you should maybe stop around lesson 75 and switch over to something that will teach phonics rules. I kinda wish I had done that, but it's not a huge deal. But now we are moving on with Explode the Code. Just thought I would give you a heads up.
Thanks Amy. Maybe I will go back to Phonics Pathways after lesson 75. Thanks for the tip. I have 2 explode the code workbooks. We work on those a little too.
