Toddler/Preschool Busy Bag Swap

A core group of us from church decided to do a busy bag swap, and we opened it up to anyone else who wanted to come. A busy bag is a plastic zippered bag containing all the items needed for an engaging, sometimes educational, always creative activity. There is no running around the house trying to find pieces or items to do the activity. It's all right there, ready to go. I will also add: reusable!!
I would do some things differently should we plan one again, although nothing that I hadn't previously read about from other blogs! We had been warned! Some definitely spent WAY more time, effort and money than others, and when you've gone to 3 stores for felt, 2 Pizza Huts for personal pan pizza boxes, and cut for 5 hours over 2 days, you're on the end of people who want to enforce the rules a little more. :)
My children were on the older end for the average child represented. We still got some fun things though! Here is the loot:

I'll describe a few favorites.

I am not going to lie, I find these magnetic poms poms fun to play with! :) It came with one laminated sheet. You can put it on a cookie sheet (each of my children already had their own from the dollar store!) or the fridge. You can also design your own pictures. This has already been a lot of fun!

Marble Mazes: There is a marble sown into these little bags, which you need to get it from one end of the maze to the other. So nice that it came with 2, so each of my kids can play with one. Bella said this was one of her favs.

Pipe-cleaner Color Sort: Of no interest to Bella. But William was able to do it completely independently, I don't even know that I had to tell him what to do. But now I can work on asking him to find the red or blue etc.

Button Snake: Bella LOVES this one, although the snake became detached within minutes of play. There are felt shapes that string onto a ribbon. I don't know that William has even attempted it.

"I Spy Bottle" Although Bella declared this "too easy", I still thought it was super cute. And hopefully soon William will enjoy it. Each one was a little different. There is a picture of each of the actual objects you are supposed to find. So fun!
