Friends on Our Doorstep

One way we have seen God's direct blessing in our lives since moving back to the USA has been the amount of old friends who have visited us in St. Louis. Especially since St. Louis seems like kind of a random place for people to just be passing through. It is always encouraging and exciting to spend time with old friends. It has also been fun for them to meet (or in one case see again) Bella. Who will be next?

On Friday, our friends Susie (now Pineda) and Betsy Killins came for lunch. Susie and her husband Johnny (who Mike and I met for the first time) live in Bogotá, Columbia and Betsy was in the process of moving from Iowa to South Carolina for graduate school. We were an indirect stop along the way. Bella loved Johnny and brought him all kinds of books that he graciously read to her. He even thought he heard her say "agua", but I shamefully had to tell him it was a coincidence since we aren't teaching her Spanish nor are we a Dora household.
