Almost Famous

I was given this idea when Bella was 18 months old through Parents as Teachers. You cut out pictures of familiar objects from magazines and cover them with contact paper. With Bella I put them in a wipe dispenser, and she pulled out the pictures and told me what they were (i.e. key, balloon, baby).

William doesn't say many words, so instead we spread them out and ask him, "Where is the elephant?". Bella plays with him and does some higher level questioning, "This lives in the zoo."

Bella's bestie and his little brother are models for a department store studio, so we see their pictures in magazines all the time. Not many other people could include their friends in this little activity!

To encourage healthy eating, I would like to collect pictures of healthy foods for William to identify. You can also start some basic math skills by collecting a few cars, animals etc.

William refused to be photographed playing this game.

He ran and hid.
