Thanksgiving

Sometimes (many times) it really gets to me that we have so many friends. So many friends that live all throughout the world that is. And not in St. Louis. God has blessed us with friendships that have been so meaningful in various stages of our life. Every once in a while there is a joyful reunion. On Wednesday we got to spend some time with our American friends, Ky and Hannah Heinze, who we know from Edinburgh. It is not hard to see God's hand when we think about this friendship. On our first weekend in Edinburgh we went on the literary pub tour. We met Ky and our other friends David and Megan that night. Somehow it came up that we were all planning on trying a church the next day (Sunday). And that was it, 5 Christians on a pub tour living in Edinburgh for awhile. We went on many adventures together after that. (Hannah is harder to explain- she was Ky's girlfriend living in Texas but she came and visited him for extended periods of time throughout the year. We would often save trips for when she came.) Ky is going to school in Washington DC- although they live on a BOAT in Annapolis, Maryland. Yes they live on a boat. We have some amazing (maybe crazy) friends! We hadn't seen them in over two years when Bella was just a twinkle in our eye (or is it before she was a twinkle? I never completely understood that phrase). It was fun for them to meet Bella.

And so we are thankful. Although I admit that I look forward with hope to the time I can be thankful that we live in the same area as some friends out there!
